My Trip to Georgia

Greg was so intrigued that he spoke to Monsignor Marren about it. Under obedience and through his spiritual direction we joined our visions and went to a site he had picked out. In June 2004, I flew to Georgia and Greg took me to the site Monsignor had directed us to, the Monastery of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit in Conyers. During the course of the next year we visited the monastery and presented our vision of the Center to their Board of Directors. After nearly a year they determined that it may interfere with their contemplative lifestyle as monks and so they opted not to pursue building it on their property, although they were supportive of our mission of having it built in the diocese. During this period of time we had also taken the opportunity to meet with and present our business plan to the Archbishop of Atlanta, Most Reverend Wilton D. Gregory, which happened to be on the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
